The Event
Sam & Colby have over 13 million YouTube subscribers. In June 2024, their team hosted a free meet and greet at Zumiez in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Zumiez reported more than 4,000 fans turned out, the first 500 in line were promised signed posters, and Mall of America announced that all wristbands had been distributed.
The challenge was the crowd. The line kept growing, so the mall stayed open late to get everyone through, and the footage had to capture the energy of the line and the moments between fans and creators without getting in the way of the event.
What DMM Productions Did
Sam & Colby’s team hired DMM Productions to shoot video coverage of the event. I shot on site alongside several other videographers and photographers, and we delivered the footage to the editor who cut the final meet and greet video.
